Who we are

Orator CRM is canvassing software for political campaigns, operated by CDServices, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. Campaigns license the software and supply their own voter data; canvassers use the field app on a campaign’s behalf. Orator CRM is a tool for campaign staff and volunteers and is not directed to children.

What we collect

We use this to show canvassers their walk list, to give campaigns an accurate picture of which doors were covered, to flag irregular patterns for a person to review, and to operate and improve the product and the records it maintains. We do not use personal information for advertising, and we do not use it to promote commercial products or services.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the product: cloud hosting and database services, and mapping services used to display addresses and routes. They process data on our instructions, may not use it for their own purposes, and are required to protect it to the standard set out here. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

Retention and deletion

Campaign and voter data is retained while the campaign holds an active license, and is deleted or returned on request after it ends. Canvasser account records are retained with that campaign’s data. A canvasser may request deletion of their account and associated personal data by emailing us; we will delete it rather than deactivate it, except where we are required to keep something for legal or security reasons.

Your choices

Security

Access is restricted per campaign and enforced in the database itself, not only in the interface. Data is encrypted in transit, and administrative access to production systems is limited to the operator of CDServices, LLC.

Changes

If we make a material change we will update the date above and, where it affects canvassers, surface it in the app.
